1280 STUDENTS SIT FOR THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE ACHIEVEMENT EXAMINATION UNDER THE UDUBADDAWA NISALA NENASALA


Udubaddawa Nisala Nenasala is doing multi task services to entire public.  Among that there is a Distance Learning Education Centres where situated at village level.  They are far away from our main centre. some centres have been situated 30 km 40 km away from the regional town.  The main task is teaching English Language to rural students using these DLE centres.  And also we try to get the students tendency towards ICT.  Because we have lack of resources in DLE centres.  The recourses what DLE Centre available are desks benches and blackboard. A group of qualified teachers doing the teaching role to rural students visiting to these DLE centrs. Students are taught English language once a week according to the timetable.Here our academic information is mentioned below.
·         We have new grading system according to the knowledge of the students.  Because there is a vase gap among students knowledge of the English language. Our grading system as follows. Students are taught according to their position.

                               Elementary
                               Foundation
                               Intermediate
                               Advanced
·        We print and issue monthly English magazine on behalf of these students and that is the book that we use to teach English. Each and every student is given this English magazine according to his or her relevant above mentioned grade. This English magazine is given FREE OF CHARG.
·        We have examination system to examine the students’ English knowledge and offer the English Language Certificate.  Normally we hold two exams per year. 1st one is held in mid of the year. And year end exam is held in at the end of the each year.  This blog is dedicated to 2011 year end exam. 


This is how we held our year end exam in last 27th Saturday in four government schools.

Relevant to our DLE centres we had to select four examination centrs.  Otherwise students and parents find it difficult to come to the exam on time.  So we decided to select four government schools as examination centres.  We appointed principals of those schools as head of the exam it means chief examiner.  Exam duties done by our teachers.  We divided them for 4 teams changing their teaching students.  Exam centers are as follows.
·        Udubaddawa Dammanda School for Udubaddawa A.G.A. Division
·        St. Josph School for Kuliyapitiya east/west A.G.A. Division
·        Pannala Sinhala School for pannala A.G.A. Division
·        Hettirippuwa Primary School for A.G.A. Division




                 
AS Udubaddawa Nisala Nenasala we have been able to sit 1280 students for 2011 year end exam.  This is how students’ number consists according to the each exam centre.

 All the students were given admission to sit the examination. That was a very difficult task.  Because we issue admissions only for the students those who sat for the mid year term test.  To get the English language achievement certificate a student must sit for the two exams.  His or her result is finalized using average marks of the taken using two exams.  Therefore we checked that thoroughly.
That student’s data base program was made by the Suranga Niroshan with the help of the Nilupul Danajaya.  Software was done by the Visual Basic.

·        Exam papers were sent through the selected group of three-wheelers.
·        There were officers for
I.Welcome students and parents for showing the exam hall
II.Admissions issuing teacher for those who didn’t take and misplaced
                                III.To go to outside/Arranging tea, lunch and etc.
