Udubaddawa Nisala Nenasala is Using Finger (Mark)Print Technology First Time in Grass root Level

I am glad to offer my contribution to Udubaddawa Nisala Nenasala by introducing this finger mark (finger print) technology system to keep students information to make easy for us to hold exams and certificate awarding ceremonies.  I think this kind of technology is being used in first time in Srilanka at grass root level.  We could come up with this innovative technology especially because of the contribution, the commitment and the encouragement received from the staff, students and parents of our Nisala Nenasala.  I sincerely thank them all.

This software is done by Suranga Niroshan and Nilupul Dananjaya with the help of Saroj Jayasooriya using Visual Basic.  And we have to spent more time to buy to correct finger print reader machine which goes with our software.  Finally we were able to find out correct finger print reader from one of shops in Majestic City at Bambalapitiya.  And we can use either finger print reader or bar code reader for this task.

To date, only three months have passed by introducing to this finger mark system for students who study English language in Distance Learning Education Centres where situated at village level.  Students find it very interesting activity of keeping their finger mark to finger mark machine.  Although students live in villages now they are aware of this finger print technology and they are thinking about that. We have already done several interesting services projects including two major projects.  We saw the results, enjoyed the every expect of those, and also surprised how much we could do as a team.  Overall we are beginning to realize the potential, the strength and the spiritof telecentre operators or teachers on reality.  Currently we are known as an organized group, have built up a reputation and have established a good image, trust and reliance as a quality service provider.  So that, I truest we are in the correct path to reach the good objects of Nenasala Project while strategically supporting our community in many years to come.

Once again, I am grateful for our all who provided advices, assistance, facts and opinions to produce this innovative service of excellence.  I trust our committed team will continue to render their contribution to go this extra mile, ensuring and effectively reaching the practical aspects of service excellence to need communities in our area.

Meantime, I congratulate the colleagues, officers, parents, teachers and students of Udubaddawa Nisala Nenasala for their achievement so far.

ICTA is the IT hose hold name in Srilanka. The brand is Acer and branded machine.  It consist genuine windows 7 operating system. As a Nenasala operator and manager I believe that this offering will be very help full to us. Because apart from our Udubaddawa main centre there are more than 60 Distance learning education centres where situated in 25km or 30km far away from regional town. Here what I believe is we can introduce ICT technology tendency to these village area people especially for students, job seekers, teachers, state or private officers, farmers, postmen, policemen, G.S.Officers and also anyone who keen on information or data. So it’s our duty to give this knowledge to public. We have great determination to do that. Therefore Udubaddawa Nenasala is launching this new campaign like already done before this.

The Information and Communication Agency of Srilanka (ICTA) has been managed by the Government of Srilanka with the task of implementing the ICT development road map and the national policy on information technology of the government through the “e-Srilanka” initiative in order to take the dividends of ICT to every village, to every business and transform the functions of government.

All the students were given admission to sit the examination. That was a very difficult task.  Because we issue admissions only for the students those who sat for the mid year term test.  To get the English language achievement certificate a student must sit for the two exams.  His or her result is finalized using average marks of the taken using two exams.  Therefore we checked that thoroughly.
That student’s data base program was made by the Suranga Niroshan with the help of the Nilupul Danajaya.  Software was done by the Visual Basic.

Nenasala propaganda vehicle is in Progress in Udubaddawa.

We udubaddawa Nenasala is launching a new Nenasala promoting program me. We nominated is as Village to Village(ගමින් ගම‍ට. Here we have decorated a three wheeler for propaganda vehicle. (As Nenasala coordinators) we hope to make aware all rural public people about Nenasala services and activities. And also already we have done a several programmers at village level and villagers highly appreciated our program me. In our hand especially students get enjoy from our program me.

Before doing this kind of programme we find it difficult to make aware the public.  Especially village area people always busy with their day today works. So we find it easy to access the village area people by this programme. And also by this task we normally go into their door steps and make aware all the services and activities done by Nenasala. We saw that most of the village area people actually have no real idea about what Nenasala is and it’s services.

There are some very funny and interesting incidents that we faced visiting here and there. Actually I want to emphases that this kind of programme is very essential to implement the Nenasala at grass root level.
